“Anybody can become angry, that is easy, but to be angry with the right person and to the right degree and at the right time and for the right purpose, and in the right way, that is not within everybody’s power and is not easy.” ARISTOTLE.

We are passionate in supporting individuals and organisations to manage anger in a healty way through our evidence based interventions. Anger itself is not the problem; expressing it inappropriately is! Contact us now to book a consultation or find out more about our full range of programmes.

Learn to control your anger before it controls you

Corporate Programmes

Managing Anger in the Workplace” is an intensive one-day programme delivered at one of our venues, or a venue that suits you.  The programme is very effective for people who come into contact with aggressive and hostile behaviour as part of their everyday or working lives. Very often what we see or do can escalate a difficult situation, so it is important to recognise what people need in that moment, and how it may be possible to give it to them without compromising our own integrity.

Using scenarios that reflect situations that might arise in the work place, we teach skills to help you handle and defuse conflict situations, protecting employers and their employees and creating a more harmonious, safe working environment. By examining and identifying reasons behind conflict it is therefore possible to improve work strategies

What you will learn:

  • How to deal with verbal aggression in a professional way that creates win/win situations
  • How to create strong personal boundaries in order not to take things personally
  • How to stay in control of a situation and to achieve a positive outcome with others
  • How to recognise when someone is being passive aggressive

IaAM are committed to supporting workplaces and organisations in managing anger, stress, anxiety and other difficult emotions in a productive way. Please feel free to contact us if we can be of help.

Outdoor Programmes

Nature heals! It’s hard to be anxious, angry, spiteful, stressed and suffer low self-esteem when we are in the majesty of the outdoors.  In nature, we often find clarity and a new sense of ourselves.  Our wilderness programmes apply research-based practices to supporting young people and adults to dealing with life issues and transitions in their lives.

IaAM are internationally recognised experts in the areas of anger, stress and anxiety management and have provided numerous workshops and seminars to professional audiences worldwide. Training workshops and seminars such as “anger essentials”, “Parenting children and teens with anger problems” “Staying cool under fire” and “calm parenting” have offered a trove of practical tools and techniques to support participants to manage difficult emotions. CPD (contunued professional development) certificates of attendance for employees and practitioners are available on request.

Please feel free to contact Peter at +353 87798 9253 if you require a seminar or workshop for your group or organisation.

What we can offer you

Parent Coaching

Parenting is arguably the most rewarding and also toughest and most challenging job in the world. When the challenges do come along, make sure you’re equipped to manage them as best as possible through our Parent Coaching Programme.

Outdoors Programmes

We know that the outdoors is good for us. Movement is medicine! Why toil with learning programmes in stuffy classrooms or online when we have the majesty of the outdoors available to us? Learn more about our evidence based programmes that have been adapted to outdoor learning.

Counselling & Psychotherapy

Therapy is time set aside by you and the therapist to look at what has brought you to therapy. This might include talking about life events (past and present), feelings, emotions, relationships, ways of thinking and patterns of behaviour. Our therapist will do their best to help you to look at your issues, and to identify the right course of action for you, either to help you resolve your difficulties or help you find ways of coping. Talking about these things may take time, and will not necessarily all be included in one session.

What is Stress? Stress is a word we hear a lot and is an inevitable part of everyday life. You can’t avoid it. It is also connected to any change that you must adapt to and generally occurs when we feel unable to cope with the high demands that are placed on us. Naturally…

What is anger

What is Anger? Anger is a completely normal valid, usually healthy human emotion. It’s a warning signal that something is wrong – just as physical pain can be a warning, “the stove is hot – move your hand now”. Anger is a natural adaptive response to threats and can warn you of imminent danger and trauma and as such is necessary to our survival. The energy of anger can be put to good use. But when it gets out of…

Dealing with anger

Are you an exploder or imploder?  There are usually two ways that most of us deal with our anger, either to implode or explode. Exploders move from anger into rage quickly. These are adult temper tantrums. Exploders are irrational in their regressed state and cause harm to themselves and to those around them. Their anger is the rage of the moment. Exploders are unable to look at the big picture and are swamped by the reptilian and mammalian part of…
